Becoming a counsellor felt like a natural step for me. I’ve always been curious about people - what shapes us, how we cope when life feels overwhelming, and why we sometimes get stuck in patterns that seem impossible to break. I remember at school always being called the “agony aunt” in my group of friends.
Over the years, I’ve worked with many people who look like they have it all together on the outside but are quietly struggling beneath the surface - anxious thoughts, self-doubt, and that endless loop of "What if?" questions.
As a qualified counsellor, I specialise in helping people manage anxiety and depression. My approach isn’t about “fixing” you - because you’re not broken. Instead, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s going on, untangle the thoughts that are keeping you stuck, and find practical ways to move forward.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, along with a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
Additionally, I am accredited with a Level 2 APT certificate in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I currently work for Dads Unlimited, which is a charity that offers family separation support for males, as well as support for male survivors of sexual abuse.
I also have experience as a Cruse Bereavement volunteer, where I offered in-the-moment support through their helpline for those struggling with grief and loss.
I’ve also worked with SHOUT, providing chat-based support for people facing challenges with their mental health.
I am also a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, and I am passionate about helping clients integrate mindfulness into their daily lives in whichever way works for them.
My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - a practical, evidence-based approach that is part of the "third wave" of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). ACT helps you manage challenging thoughts and emotions without getting overwhelmed by them. It focuses on building psychological flexibility, and encourages living according to your core values, empowering you to take purposeful action in your life.
I also draw from person-centred therapy, which means our work is guided by your needs, not a rigid treatment plan. Some clients want to dive deep into their emotions. Others prefer straightforward tools to cope with anxiety when it shows up in the moment. We’ll figure out what works best for you.
I know firsthand how challenging life can feel. My personal experience with anxiety, as well as my clinical experience with clients has shown me that change is always within reach, even when it feels impossible. When it feels like anxiety is running the show, I understand how overwhelming this can be. That’s why I focus on giving you more than just coping strategies - I want to help you understand why anxiety shows up in the first place and how you can respond to it differently.
Unlike conventional therapy, which often tends to focus mainly on symptom reduction, I provide tools that help you cope with anxiety immediately, while also working alongside you to define your values to drive lasting personal growth. We’ll work together to help you feel more in control, more at ease, and better equipped to handle whatever life throws your way.
Many of the people I work with come to me feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in constant overthinking, or weighed down by low mood and lack of motivation. Clients often say they feel consumed by their thoughts and unsure how to move forward.
Therapy gives us space to slow down and take a closer look at what’s going on beneath the surface. Over time, clients often mention how they begin to sleep better, feel more energised, and make decisions with greater confidence.
They start reconnecting with their values, what truly matters in life, feeling more grounded in themselves, and gradually, that heavy sense of stuckness begins to lift.
Through the work we do together, my clients often tell me they start to feel more in control of their lives, and feel more like themselves again.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck and want support from someone who’s both professional and human, I’m here. I offer a free, no-obligation consultation where we can talk about what’s going on and how I can help.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before getting in contact, just taking that first step is enough. We can figure out the rest together.
